John, I'd like to know if you find them as well. He has my greatgrandfather Daniel Grooms listed and tied back to the Joseph Groom of Charleston SC. DNA tests are tying us back to the John Groom SR families of Louisa/Orange/Spotsylvania and Isle of Wright VA. IF we are from David's lines, who is the common ancestor? I found an old bio of one of the Louisa Co VA grandsons which said the family was from the Isle of Mann. I do know that David did make some errors in his book. The Mack Groom of Fentress Co TN that he mentions (see 1850 census) is the son of John and Nellie Groom of the Overton/Fentress Co TN area per deed records and NOT the son of Charles Groom. And neither Mack nor my ancestor Elijah Grooms died in 1840. Thanks. Ann Groom Lenz
