Hello,
I am researching the relatives of Yke Fokkes Groen en Trijntje Hendriks Bakker. They lived in the Netherlands ( Friesland, near Heerenveen in the early 1800's).
One of their grandchildren was Klaas Hendriks Groen. Klaas Hendriks was born in Heereneveen 5th March 1801 en died probably before 1853. He Married Cornelia Lichtevoort and they lived in Amsterdam).
One of their children was Yke Klazes Groen ( this means Yke, son of Klaas Groen). Yke was born in Heerenveen on 12th august 1837.
I do not know whom he was married to, But I know that he emigrated in 1904 tot the USA when he was 66 years old.
His destination was Buffalo, NY. He wanted to visit his son-in-law A.L. Sikkema, 285 Rodney Ave, Buffalo NY.
The ship manifest indicates that het travelled together with his daughter Jacoba (39 years old, his son-in-law Johan Tesbe of Terbe? (54 yr) and their child Johannes (11 yr)
Is their anyone who call tell me more where they went and give me some more informatioon about their children en grandchildren. I would like to get in contact with them.
