Dear Dominique, About the Dutch Jewish familygroup Groen I known just a little. The Christian name's I know were most of Jewish tradition such as Simon and Isaak. Also a Albert is known About this group I do little know, because they are n't related to my fam.group Groen. What I know of the Jewish famgrp Groen is that they came from Den Helder to IJmuiden around 1880's due to the growth of the fishtrade and -industry in IJmuiden in those years. The Dutch bought in that time many old trawlers in the UK. Many small companies arouse in those years and the Jewish fmgrp Groen started also a few (5)copmanies. Some companies concisted of only two ships and others of more. In my search of my fmgrp Groen (religion Old Catholic, you can compare it best with the Anglian Church) in the Civil Registers of Den Helder I found a lot of Groen's with Jewish Christian name's like Eshter, Simon and so on. I didn't investigate these people because they don't fit in my research, but I suspect they are all of the mentioned fmgrp. I'm not sure if Den Helder is the original habitat of this grp, I think not. I supose there is a serious chance they came from Germany. However they settled in IJmuiden but due to WW. II they lost everything and after the war they ended their shipping trade. Nowadays there are still several Groen's in IJmuiden (also from my fmgrp) which could be part of the Jewish fmgrp Groen. There are still Groen's active in the fishtrade. If you want to communicate more directly with me my E-mail: chris.d.rijk@amsterdamports.nl (work) Regards, Chris
