My mother was a Groce. She is the d/o Emmett Leslie Groce, s/o Charles E. Groce, s/o George Washington Groce, s/o Henry Gross (note change of spelling) born 1807 in Surry County, NC. He married Ann Scritchfield from Virginia. Don't know what happened to him or where he died. Does this match any of your info?
