Jared E. Groce, et al, Monroe Co., AL 1830's

I am trying to find the husband of Mary Ann Groce, b. ca 1800 NC. She is listed in Monroe Co., AL in 1840 with 3 sons & 2 daughters. In 1850, she was 50, had children David H., 22; John R., 19; Mary L., 17; and Martha W., 14 (an older son is missing from the 1840 census). In 1840, there was a S.W. Groce and a Jane Gross also in Monroe County. There is no record of a Groce estate in the Monroe Orphan Court minutes before 1840, or shortly thereafter.

I found in the Monroe County deeds in the 1830's mention of a David and Jared E. Groce. Jared E. being a common name among a Groce line, I hope that someone can help me identify these people and hopefully find the husband of Mary Ann Groce, an ancestor of my children. In the late 1800's the spelling changed to Gross.
