I think that the brothers name that Jared Ellison Groce came to America with was James Ellison Gross. Their name was Gross. Jared changed his name to Groce because Jared became a patriot and James remained loyal to England. Jared had nothing to do with his brother after that. Jared later came to Texas in the Early 1820's and was one of Stephen F. Austin's 300. He is buried in Hempstead, Texas.
