I am related to many of the Groce's in the Spartenburg area. My mother was a Groce - born in Pauline (just outside of Spartenburg). Her mother and their family was born there and lived there for many years.

The names I have are: John Calhoun Groce, a brother of my great grandfather, James Henry Groce. James' wife was CHarlotte TAylor GRoce. CHildren were: Nettie (Kirby), Mary (Harvey), Grace (Cubitts?), Birdie (Bishop, CLiff), Elizabeth (Dardis - my grandmother), Corrie (Simmons), Jodie (?) (Jess Taylor), Lula (Russel Canady Lee), John A.,
Boye. All of the children were born in the late 1800's. I would imagine that there is some relationship somewhere with Joseph Groce as it was a pretty big family around Spartenburg.
