Jared Groce 1800 Texas

My name's Alex Groce, I'm a different alex groce from the one on here, I live in Lake county, IL, I'm 17, and I'm sick of not knowing anything about my surname.
I suggest, based on some internet searches, that the name is Italian, or English.
However, a history book I read, tied in Jared Groce, an infamous Texan hoodlum, with the Anglo disguised French-German immigration to the American South. This was around the early 1800's, but could have been earlier.
I am most insistent on the French-German mixture that has been disguised as Anglo.
