I'm trying to fit the pieces of these early Gross/Groce /Grose generations together and wanted to ask which Simon Gross are you referring? I have a John Gross born abt 1774, d. 1809 in Surry County, son of Simon Sr. and his third wife Margaretha unknown. John and wife Miriam had a child Isaac b. 1793 and I have no have no other info on this family.

Or are you referring to Simon Jr. who married Mary Shermer?
They had a son Peter, but no John (that I know of, my info may be incomplete.)

Also I see nothing to indicate that Jacob Gross and Rachel Renninger were ever in Lincoln County Tennessee; he was born in Surry, and he and both wives Mary Renegar and Rachel Renninger (who were half.1st cousins)are buried in Long Cemetery in Yadkin County. Their children were all born in Surry/Iredell. I descend from Jacob and Rachels son James.

I'd be grateful for any info you have on your Peter/John.
