Alfred & Matilda Griswold in Westchester then Jersey City

Found this couple in Westchester in 1860 and 1870 census, then seems they moved to Jersey City and Alfred died unexpectedly in 1887. Seeking information on their 2nd son Charles (1858-1915) who I believe married Mary W. Clark in NYC about 1902. Other children were: Harrison, Francis, William, and Matilda. What was their mother's maiden name? WAs Alfred really born in Florida? who were his parents? Thanks.
