Walter A. Grisham of Madison Parish, Louisiana, formerly of Lauderdale Co AL, Andrew Jackson Grisham of Lauderdale Co AL, and Wilson/Willis Grissom of west TN formerly of Lauderdale Co AL are said to be sons of Moses Grissom/Grisham in these depositions given by several men in Lauderdale County AL in response to interrogatories from Madison Parish, Louisiana, after the death of Walter A. Grisham there, who had died without heirs (about 1870). These depositions were transcribed and published in Ronnie B. Haraway's book, "Grishams in East Lauderdale County" published 1989. I am paraphrasing, but here's the information from the depositions of James Jackson, John S. Tate, Jacob Whitehead and George W. Whitehead who were all citizens of Lauderdale County: James Jackson deposes and says Walter A. Grisham and Andrew Jackson Grisham were brothers. He did not know Moses or Wilson/Willis. John S. Tate deposes and says Walter A., Andrew J., and Wilson/Willis were sons of Moses Grisham. He said he only knew Wilson/Willis slightly but he had seen him passing through the area and he was always called "Old Man Moses Grisham's son." Jacob Whitehead deposes and says Walter A., Andrew J., and Wilson/Willis were sons of Moses Grisham. He says he knew Wilson/Willis very well when he lived in Alabama but he left the state many years back and moved to west Tennessee. George W. Whitehead deposes and says that Walter A., Andrew J., and Wilson/Willis were sons of Moses Grisham. He says that he only met Wilson/Willis once, four weeks ago, but he was introduced to him by Andrew J. as his brother. Jesse Nelson is a brother to Andrew J. and Wilson as indicated by a letter written to Wilson Grisham of Henderson Co TN by his brother Andrew J. A copy of the original letter was published in Ronnie Haraway's book "Grishams in East Lauderdale Co." Notify Administrator about this message?
