I am a descendant of Reuben Grinstead. I do not know if my Reuben is the same as the one in your query but I would like to find out.
My Reuben Grinstead was born circa 1817 in Va., married nancy Ellen Wilson December 22, 1836 in Barren Co., Ky. He died some time after 1860 in Hart Co., Ky.
According to my copy of "The William Grinstead Family in America", many of the genealogists who worked on the book were stumped as to who was the father of my Reuben. Their "best guess" was that he was the son of James Grinstead, Jr. and Nancy Hooker Eubank.
Do you have any other information on your Reuben Grinstead? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
