Guidence needed regarding Grindel/Grendel

Hello... am doing my husbands lineage and am stuck regarding the Grindel line, which is no longer around. His grandfather was Max Arthur Grendel b. 1895 d. 1964 in Manchester, Hillsborough, New Hampshire. His great grandfather was Robert Grindle/he changed to Grendel/ b. ca 1859 and reportedly immigrated in. He and his wife Emily b. ca 1858, also immigrant, are on the census begining 1900 for Manchester, NH. My husbands wife is aged and does not remember much about her Grindle family except that their were'nt many of them here...any suggestions? Going grey with this brick wall :) Thankyou in advance.
