Examination of Thomas D. Whitaker's descendant chart (shown on the Grimshaw Origins website at http://tomwgrim.home.texas.net/WebPages/EarlRecd.htm) shows that "Thomas, mar. Jane, widow of William Duddell, of Longridge" is in the 13th generation after Walter de Grimshaw, progenitor of the most senior (known) line of Grimshaws.
