Perry, I am also from West Virginia. My mother was a Grimmett, and she lived most of her life in Summers County and Raleigh County. According to David L. Price's book written in the 1980's he states that the origin of the Grimmett's was England. He states that the founders of the line in Virginia (a portion of which later became West Virginia) were John Grimmett and Robert Grimmett.
Where in West Virginia did you grow up? Perhaps we have some common ancestors.
