Hello Pauline....like you I am also a descendant of Charles and Elizabeth Grimmer (nee Lee) and their son George Grimmer who married Margaret Gavin Dalziel. My mother is a grandaughter of Elizabeth Prust (nee Grimmer) who is George and Margaret Grimmer's eldest child. I'm not sure where you fit into it, but my guess is that we are third cousins. Have you spoken to your grandfather's cousin Keith Grimmer, who still lives in Wickcliff, where our original Grimmers, Charles and Elizabeth settled? If not, I would urge you too, he knows a lot of Grimmer (and Wickliffe) history. Of course, I would be happy to tell you what I know, and pass on the Grimmer family tree and copies of photos of our mutual Grimmer descendants that I have in our family. I dare say our family would be happy to participate in any reunion of the Grimmer clan. I am pretty much in contact with all of the descendants of Elizabeth Prust (nee Grimmer) (there are not that many of us!) and some of the descendants of her brothers and sisters. My Mother knew of your grandfather and his siblings. I would be happy to make contact with you and your branch of the extended family. Cheers. Howard Proctor.
