I am looking at this all again from a different perspective, maybe a little less prejudiced than the first time, and I found post from Dan Nelson saying an LDS record sent to him from A. Maxim Coppage, publisher of Stevens/
Stephens/ Stevenson/ Stephenson shows a Richard Stevenson that was born circa 1716, emigrated from Scotland to Virginia in 1720 and died in Frederick in 1765. He married Honora Grimes of New Jersey, the daughter of Richard and Honora Valentine (the name Valentine appears many generations later in our Stevenson family) Grimes, and the widow of William Crawford.
The second time around, it sounds like Honora Grimes was the daughter ofRichard Grimes who married Honora Valentine, so could it be that there were two Honora Grimes until the younger Honora married Crawford and then Stephenson? The LDS source quoted above is the only place where I have seen this.Am I totally off-base here here?
