Dickie, do you have any idea who the Willis and James Grimes were that were in Washington Co., AL, in 1850.
Note Below:
In 1850, James D. and his wife Margaret are living in Washington Co., Alabama. He is 35, and she is 30, and he was born in Alabama, and she was born in Mississippi. They are farmers living in HH 55/55, and they had the following children: Francis, Louisa, James, Willis D., and Sarah P.They were 9, 7, 5, 3, and 7/12 months. All were born in Alabama.
Since James D. was living next door to Willis Grimes, and their ages are about a generation a part, I presume that James is the son of the Willis, living next door. This Willis next door was 60, had a wife named Louisa, was aged 50 and born in GA. Also, Louisa was the name of one of James D.'s children. There is only one son, John, who is 19 years old still at home in the Willis and Louisa home. They are in HH 56/56.The Willis next door was born in NC.
Willis and Louisa still had one son at home named John, who was 19.Both this James D. and the John, aged 19, were born in AL.

Since DAWSON and Dorcas Grimes had a son named Willis, and they were living over in Pike Co., AL, I feel as if there must be a connection, but you've already noted that this Willis was married to a Seneth. The age I was given for the Willis, son of Dawson was that he was born in 1800 in GA.Do you agree?
You said that you descend from Mary.I descend from Lucy, who married James Bedwell.Their son James W. married first Arabella Nicholson Bedwell, and their daughter Mary Avaline LEE was my great-grandmother.
I would love to know about your Mary and anything you have on the Dawson children and their birth and death dates, as well as birth and death places.
My Arabella (Belle) Nicholson Bedwell moved from Clark Co., MS, to Hinds Co., MS, and to Drew Co., AR, after her married to Anson Pollen LEE.([email protected] )
