Christine, you seem to have a lot more information on these Grimes prior toAlabama than I.Would you please give me an outline on what you have?I have found a census for George, William , and Dawson, but you mentioned a Jessie, a John, and in your old message a Dorson or something of this nature...if I try to go back, I lose my place in this message. How do you know that Thomas' wife Elizabeth was the child of Dawson Grimes in Pike Co.? Do you have a copy of a will, and would your share? What is the oldest Grimes that you can prove, and who were his children, and where did they live? What documentaton do you have? Can someone write and get a copy of Dawson's will or obit from Pike County.
Evidently, you suspect them as being from other places besides Wake Co., in NC, and you seem to have a lot of Greene Co., GA, information.Do you mind sharing your thoughts on who belonged to whom and from whence they came and how far back.Is NC the furtherest you can go with supposition? Also, what do you think of the Graham idea of Scottish origins and the pronunciation beingthe sound for Grimes?
You have been a lot of help,
Beth Thurman
