I have a copy of the second application of Issac Grimes For his pension as a confederate soldier in the civil War.It says his father was Hardin Grimes and that his mother's maiden name was Rutherford- but he was from Hickman Co. Tenn and after the war, he worked for the street dept. in Bristol Tenn.Hope it helps. It shows a connection between Grimes and Rutherfords and verifies that this Rutherford seved in the Revolutionary war.
