Hi,
I live in England, as does my father, Christophe, but his father, Andre, lived in Paris/Fontainebleu.
My grandfather told me he went to New Orleans, and on finding his own name in the phone book, met up with relatives. He was able to trace the family connection (which was several generations back). I think it is likely that he was the Andre Grillet recorded as arriving at Ellis Island in 1910, at the age of 29.
He died in Fontainbleu at the age of 83 in about 1992. (If my memory is better than normal).
He had a brother, Pierre, about whom I know very little.
I have tried to contact christel, but got no reply.
I am related to all Grillet's in the UK, and know my relationship to most of them.
Granpa told me that an ancestor of his went to Panama (from Paris), and returned with a wife. Does anyone know about this? Was he confused with Venesuela?
