Hi. First, I made an error in transposing in my message to you on this forum. I stated Thomas Griggs was born 5 Dec 1585 in Roxbury, MA and emigrated to America in 1639. I meant that he was born on that date in Boxted, Suffolk, England and emigrated to Roxbury, MA in 1639. As to the Children of John Griggs of Boxted, England, there are many mentions and pedigrees online, most of which are unsourced. These might have been copied from one to another. The best source seems to be “History of Peter Parker and Sarah Ruggles of Roxbury, Mass. and their ancestors and descendants”, published by Samuel Usher, Boston, 1913, as well as the various LDS files. Emigration to US: Thomas Griggs - England to Roxbury 1639 - “Passenger And Immigration Lists - 1500s-1900s”. George Griggs emigrated on ship Hopewell from England to Boston in 1635. Both brothers are mentioned in “A Genealogical Dictionary Of The First Settlers Of New England Before 1692" by James Strange. (Strange New England Register, Volume #2) Both are also mentioned in “Genealogy Of The Griggs Family” by Walter S. Griggs of Norfolk, Virginia, published 1926 by the Biblio Company. Hope this is of some help. I am still trying to prove a connection from Timothy B. Griggs (born 12 Nov 1817 in either Union, Ct or Brimfield, MA) and Orlando Griggs (born 30 Mar 1789 in Union, Tolland County, CT). Can you or anyone else help with this?
