Dear Carolyn,
I have recently come across the following.
I have David Lloyd Griffiths born in 1858 in Liverpool.
His father is John Griffiths from b 1826 Meifod in Montgomeryshire.
In 1881 he is an iron merchant and his son is an assistant iron merchant. They are well off and living in Egremont, Liscard in Cheshire. There is a sister Mary b1860.
His mother died before 1881 her surname was Lloyd and she was probably born in Flintshire. Her sister Catherine is at this address.
John donated a large amount of money to build a new methodist chapel in Meifod.
They do not appear in any other census.
My interest is in the correlation of Merseyside/Meifod/Griffiths/methodist with my family.
