Jasper Griffing - Essex Mass.

Here are a couple of records I found prior to 1670 when Jasper Griffing is said to have arrived in Massachusetts. There are various spellings of his name in the records below, but they are all found in Essex County, MA where he is first found in the colonies.

I found these by searching the web for Essex County, Mass. records associated with Griffing/Griffin/Greffen/Griffyn surnames.

page 86 - 1668 - Salem Quarterly Court - Jacob Knight, Ephraim Hall, Jasper Griffin and Peeter
Jenkins, for profaning the Lord's day by laboring about brick, were fined. to John Bread, 2s; owing to myselfe, 2s. 6d; for waying and loading of a load of hay, 1s; total 4li.3s.5d.
