Stephen Griffin of N.Y. gave birth to my great great great grandfather Joel T. Griffin who moved to Nebraska in 1856, his son Joel Aaron Griffin gave birth to Joel Steven Griffen, (named got changed here to en) who moved to Oakland California (the story I heard was that he ran off with another woman and left a wife in Nebraska....don't know if that's true, I hope not, hate to think he was a cad). Joel Steven Griffen gave birth to Joel Thomas Griffen (my grandfather). Joel Thomas Griffen gave birth to Thomas Theodore Griffen who gave birth to me Jeffrey Steven Griffen. Tons of other Griffens out here.

The first Griffin in Nebraska Joel T. Griffin started a corporation called the Omaha horse railway company in 1867 and also operated the post office in the early 1870's.

Your e-mail said giffin's, I assumed it was a typo for griffin. Anyway, here's some info, any help? recognize any names? What is your relationship to the griffins.
