Grieve in the Border areas

My gt.gt.gt. granfather Christopher Grieve (not Hugh McDairmid) appears on the 1841 Census in Cavers with wife Margaret b. circa 1780 and 1781. No further trace of either. Their son Walter b. 1812 who says he was born in Hawick appears in Dingwall Rossshire from 1841 onwards until his death in 1895. His son also Christopher b 1845 emigrated to New Zealand in 1868. Any one help find Christopher b.1780? marriage or death..........
