For those seeking knowledge about the Griese origins in general, as I just begain to do, I would highly recommend that you visit my upstart Genforum: GRIESON and read the entries most recently listed there: July 16/17th, 2003 by myself and (Professor) Ronald Grieson.
I would also be indebted to others for their input if it is well documented on any possible Griese to Grieson relationship, or other similar surname variations around the world, at all points in time.
