SPOKANE, WASHINGTON, - September 18th.-- At (1) one o'clock in the morning the jury, after being out Ten (10) hours and after taking 20 ballots, brought in a verdict in the GRIER MURDER TRIAL of Murder in the Second Degree.

HELEN L. GRIER was accused of murdering her sixth (6th) husband by giving him poison. Her two daughters were the prosecuting witnesses. The defense claims the verdict is not legal for it must be premeditated murder or no murder at all.
