Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Hi LoAnn, Thanks so much for your post. About Sally (Grider) James, read the post here number 500 by Ray Gryder II about the shoebox of articles that was donated to the Alexander County, NC Ancestry Association. If your Nancy is the sister to this Sally, I would certainly like to talk with you (or even if you are not.) Could you e-mail me at Fren552@aol.com (note that the spelling is Fren, not Fern.)
About the Hartshorns, I married into that family. My husband was from Fort Worth, TX. His father had rode a bicycle down from Iowa, and his father's name is Lucius Hartshorn who married Mary Baker Spaulding. I have the Spaulding info. but need to do more work on the Hartshorn line. Derick Hartshorn, who runs the NC State Genweb site has written a book, THE HARTSHORNS OF AMERICA. Perhaps he could help you; however, I will try to do so also. Looking forward to chatting with you more, Fern
