Moses GRICE, will 1789, Robeson Co., NC. Wife, Mary. Sons Benjamin, John and Jonathan. Daughters Patty, Tabby and Fathy. Mary GRICE, administration Richland District, SC 1826 (Box 12, Package 287). Son John administrator. Two sons deceased leaving children. One daughter living, one daughter deceased leaving children. Paid Ezekiel O'QUINN, a legatee, his part. Several members of the extended GRICE family of Richland District, SC were enumerated in the 1830 Houston County, GA census in the following order. William AIKINS Age 30-40 Ezekiel O'QUINN 60-70 Daniel CLARK, Jun. 20-30 Moses GRICE 30-40 Isaiah SMITH 30-40 Ezekiel O'QUINN's wife was Faitha GRICE, daughter of Moses GRICE (Will in Robeson Co., NC) and his wife Mary (Administration in Richland District, SC in 1826.) William AIKINS' wife was Elizabeth O'QUINN, daughter of Ezekiel and Faitha GRICE O'QUINN. Daniel CLARK, Jun., relationship unknown. One Daniel Clark, age 45, born in SC was enumerated in the 1850 census of Barbour Co., AL. Moses GRICE, nephew of Faitha GRICE O'QUINN. Probably the son of Benjamin GRICE. Isaiah SMITH's wife was Elizabeth GRICE, niece of Faitha GRICE O'QUINN. I believe her father was Jonathan GRICE because Jonathan SMITH's death certificate identified her as Elizabeth GRICE. Isaiah SMITH died in Barbour Co., AL 28 March 1857 leaving a will (Witnessed by William R SMITH) of which I have a copy of the original. The death certificate of his son, Jonathan in Upshur Co., TX, stated his mother was Elizabeth GRICE. The year in which they relocated to Houston Co., GA is unknown, but according to the 1850, 1860, and 1870 census, William R SMITH, son of Isaiah and Elizabeth GRICE SMITH, was born in SC. The Bible record of the William R SMITH and Eliza PARMER SMITH show his birth date as 11 June 1827. Isaiah and Elizabeth SMITH were in Barbour Co., AL by 1841. Jonathan GRICE, administration 1813 in Richland District, SC, William SMITH Administrator and only buyer of the personal property. A L and William SMITH were buyers of the personal property of the Mary GRICE estate. John CLARK was an appraiser of Mary GRICE's estate. Notify Administrator about this message?
