With further research I've found out the following:
James J. (John)was the son of James and Rachel (maiden name unknown) Grice.
They also had a son named Brit. Brit's son was Rembert, married to Marie Sherman, and after her death, Madge, his high school sweetheart. Rembert had 3 sons and 3 daughters, one being named Kathy. The others are unknown.
James was the son of Britton Grice married to Rebecca Cox. Britton also possibly had a daughter, Victora who possibly married John P. Avery in Marion County, MS Sep 8, 1885.
If anyone has any information on any of these people, I'd love to have it. I'm still digging, but not having much luck until I can get back to Marion county. I know most of the Grice families from that area are buried in the Society Hill Cemetery and the Grice cemetery.
