My Great Grandmother, Fanny Grice/Grist married Jacob Kittle. Fanny was born in Washington, NC, and had relatives in Rocky Mount and Tarboro, by the name of Clark, who I think were in the retail department store business during the late 1940's, early 1950"s. I remember her talking about Saam Clark, and Russell Clark, but not much more than that. Her sons were born in Washington, NC - I believe at River Orion Farm in 1884,m and 1886.

I know what you mean about the spelling - my Kittle line was Kittle, changed from Kittel, changed from Godel, I just recently discovered.
