John Grist purchased 584 acres of land in Rowan Co, NC in 1763, according to the records. One person has written he might have been born in 1717. This John is believed to be the father of William of the same county. Who was John's wife? Who were the other children of John? Were these John's children? William, Alexander, Benjamin, Christopher, Lydia, Elizabeth, Charles? Rowan County was broken up to form some smaller counties from it. And John's son William was in what is now Davidson County in the Flat Swamp area, according to his descendants. I would like to hear from anyone searching for Grice/Grist/Grise in this area.
