Although I don't have positive proof of the connection, I believe that Carpenter Grice was related to Lindsey Baker Grice, an earlier ancestor of mine.

L B Grice was born in SC in 1814 but was in definitely in AL by 1833 when he married Elizabeth Todd. He lived in Dallas Co. for some time before moving to Lowndes Co. where most (all?) of his children were born. His youngest son was named Willis Carpenter Grice.
