Re Alfred Grice
My father had a cousin, May Reynolds, who was married to an Alfred Le Grice who died the latter part of WWI. They lived in the vicinity of Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Le Grice is a long-standing name that neck of the woods. They had two children, Hazel and Colin. Colin was born round about the time of Alfred's death.
I remember as a small child seeing a photograph of Alfred - darkhaired with a mustache (popular in that era) and mistaking it for a photograph of Colin and asking when did he wear a mustache.
