James Newton Gribble was my oldest Gribble ancestor. He was born in England in 1810 and sailed from Liverpool to America with his brother, John. I don't know when they sailed to America. James was in Mecklenburg Co., NC census in 1840, and in the Moore Co., NC census in 1850. Do you know if your John Gribble is the one that was the brother of James Newton Gribble? Thanks.
