HANS GREVE PASSES in HIS SEVENTIES
Esteemed Farmer a Victim of Creeping Paralysis- -Fine Banquet.
LAKE VIEW- -November 22- -Hans Greve, for more than thirty years a resident of this community died last Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs Charles Franck, who resides in th vicinity of Ulmer.Mr Greve had been ill for some time with creeping paralysis,andfor the past month or moreit was know that the end was not far distant.
Following a brief service at the Franck home at one o'clock last Friday, the ermains were brought to he Congregational church in LakeView where the funeral service was conducted at two o'clock by the decedent's pastor, Rev. Ad. Schwidder of Wall Lake.The pallbearerswere Carland Henry Frank, John Krenzien, Orville Lange, and Wm. Meyer (grandsons of the decedent) and Franz Greve, one of the sond."Rock of Ages" and :Never, My God, To Thee" were sung by the congregation.Burial was made in the Ferguson Cemetery.
Hans Greve, son of Hans and Margaretha Greve, was born in Sschleswig, Holestein, Germany, July 30, 1852.At an early age he wasconfirmed in the Lutheran church of which he remained a member throughout the rest of his life.Growing to young manhood in his nativecommunity, he was united in marriage in 1876 to Miss Catherina Greve.Five years later they came to America, locating first in Clintoncounty.In the early nineties they moved to Sac county, setteling on a farm east of Lake View, and in this community the decedent eversince resided.On May 18, 1919 Mrs Greve passed on and much of the time since then Mr. Greve has made his home with his children.He has been at the Franck home for nearly a year when death relieved him from his sufferings.
Ten children were born to Mr and Mrs Greve.One of these, a little girl died in infancy.Those who lived to adult years are Margaretha,wife of Charles Franck; Alvina, wife of John Laumbach of Hawkeye, Iowa; Rose, wife of C K Vogel of Rock Rapids; ??tie, wife of MarxLange of Lake View;Hans of Richwood, NJ;Emma, wife of Geo. Claussen of Prairie City, Minn.;Theodore, who died May 4, 1919 inLake View;Franz of Rock Rapids, and Tracy, wife of Carl Arndt of Rock Rapids.All of the surviving children were present at the funeralwith the exception of the son in New Jersey who had just returned home after spending a week at his father's bedside.There also survivethirty-six grandchildren, ninegreat-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.The brothers, John Greve of Lexington, Nebr., and HenryGreve of Sioux City, were present at the funeral.The sister, Mrs Louie Peterson, resides in California.Other members of the family, it isthought, are still living in Germany.
Mr Greve was known as a kind husband and father, a good neighbor and a respected citizen of the land of his adoption.His passing ismourned by many outside of his intimate family circle.

Funeral Service Held For Mrs. C.C. Farnk
Mrs. C. C. Farnk, born Anna Margaretha Greve, daughter of Hans Greve and his wife Katherine Greve, was born in Schleswig, Holestein,Germany, on October 28, 1877.She came to this country with her parents at the age of 4.
Baptised in the Lutheran Church in Germany, she was confirmed in Emmanual Lutheran Church, Lake View, Iowa on October 28, 1915.On October 30 1893, she was married to Charles C Frank.They had seven children, all of whom are living except one son, Hans, who
died at the age of eight.The family lived on farms in Sac County and in recent years Mrs. Frank lived with her children.
Injury suffered in a fall recently caused her health to decline rapidly, and Mrs Frank passed away at the Midway Nursing Home in LakeCity, on May 11, 1963, at the age of 85 years.In addition to the one son and her husband, two brothers and three sisters preceded her indeath.
Survivors are; three sons, Carl of Lake View; Henry, Lake View and Ernest, of Lake View; three daughters; Rosa (Mrs Walter
Thompson), of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Helena (Mrs John Krenzien) of Sac City, Iowa; and Anna (Mrs William Meyer), of Terrill, Iowa; onebrother, Hans Greve of Midlank Park, New Jersey;two sisters, Emma (Mrs George Klaassen) of Clara City, Minnesota; adn Rosa (MrsChris Vogel), of Rock Rapids, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives andfriends.
Funeral services were held at Emmanual Lutheran Church, Lake View, on May 13, 1963, with the Rev marvin W Lillie in charge.Theorganist was Mrs Walter Schramm, and hymns were sung by Mrs Donald Hill, Mrs George Karstens, Mrs Donald Hawks, and Mrs JamesWallace.
Pallbearers were LaVern Frank, marvin Frank, Ernest Charles Frank, Chester Frank, Austin Meyer, and Charles Reiter.Burial was inthe Luckow Cemetery.

Funeral and burial services for Mrs. C. C. Frank of Lake View took place there Monday, May 13, Mrs. Frank was the mother of Mrs.Walter Thompson of Spirit Lake and Mrs. W.E. Meyer of Terril.
Mrs. Frank died Saturday, May 11, at the nursing home in Lake City.She had fallen and broken her hip Sunday, May 5.Mrs. Frankwas 85 years old at the time of her death.
The final rites were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Thompson Mr. and Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Henry Kelso, Mrs. Delbert Mitchell and Mrs. ArthurEmerson.
In addition to Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Frank is survived by another daughter and three sons, all of Lake View; 21grandchildren, including Mesdames Kelso, Mitchell and Emerson; 49 great grand-children and 19 great-great-grandchildren.Mr. Frankpreceded her in death.

Lived on Farm Northwest of Town Since Year of 1877
C.C. Frank died at his home 4 miles northwest of Ulmer on Friday morning, Nov 3 at 5 o'clock.For the last 3 years Mr. Franks healthwas poor and lately he became bedfast.During the last weeks of his life he grew steadily weaker until he entered his etrnal rest.His agewas 66 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
Funeral services were held at the Peace Lutheran church of Ulmer on Monday afternoon, Nov 6.Rev E.A. Fritz was in charge of theservice.His sons and sons-in-law acted as pall-bearers.Interment was made in the Luckow cemetery.
Mr Frank was born on May 18, 1867, in Province Mommern, German.At the age of five he came with his parents to America.Theymade their home in Coal Valley, Ill., where his father was engaged in mining.In the year of 1877 the deceased came with his parents toCarroll and a few days later to the farm adjoining his residence.
On October 30, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Greve, whom he loved and cherished throughout their married life.Tothis union 7 children were born, of whom only one son, Hans, has preceded him in death.For the past 42 years the family occupied theirpresent farm.About a year ago, Mr. Frank turned the farm work over to his son Henry.
Mr Frank was a Lutheran by faith, being baptised in his early infancy, and at age 17 was confirmed in the Lutheran church of CoonValley.Later he and his family affiliated themselves with the Peace Lutheran church of Ulmer and has remained a member of this churchuntil his death.

Rosa Reiter Thompson was born September 14, 1894 at Lake View, Iowa, to Charles C. and Anna Greeve Frank.As a child sheattended school in Lake View.
On October 8, 1913 she was united in marriage to Frank F. Reiter at Sac City, Iowa.Six children were born to this union, two sons andfour daughters.
They moved to Terrill, iowa in 1915 where they lived until moving to Spirit Lake in 1928.Her husband Frank Reiter passed away in1938.She later marriedWalter Thompson of Spirit Lake in 1941.They resided at Haywards Bay until 1966 at which time Walter passedaway.Failing health caused her to enter Hill Top House in Spirit Lake where she passed away February 24, 1975 at teh age of 80.
Rose was a member in good standing of the Church Circle and a long time member of the Center Lake Club.She was also a memberof the Immanuel Lutheran Church adn loved her flower garden and handiwork.When she was able she loved to fish.

FrankReiter passed away at his home here tuesday morning following a lingering illness.Mr Reiter had been very poorly the past 7years suffering with stomach cancers.At many intervals he had been @ Iowa City to gain relief & had underwent several operations.Since in Oct., he had been bedfast @ his home here.
Mr Reiter was the son of Josephine & Anna Reuter.He was born Nov. 15, 1890 in Cerro Gordo Co. and died @ his home in Spirit Lake,Iowa 9:00 AM, Feb 22, 1938.He spent his boyhood @ Mount Carmel & Carnarvon, Iowa.
Mr Reiter was united in marriage to Rosa Frank Oct 8, 1913 @ Sac City, Iowa.They lived there until 1915 at which time they came toDickinson Co., & rsided on a farm near Terrill until 1928, when they moved to Spirit Lake where he spent the remainder of his life.
