Hi Janice,
It is quite possible we are related, but I can't confirm with the info you provided. Can you get Helena's parent's names?
Here is what I do know. With help from another relative in Germany, I have been able to trace family back to the late 1400's. The two lines, hers and mine are fairly flushed out and complete-going straight back. We start to lose info as siblings go different directions away from the primary area of residence. My great-grandfather was born in 1863 and lived in a town called Klein-Wittensee (located on Lake Wittensee), he had 12 brothers and sisters (I have all their names), but limited information on their name carrying cousin's and children. I have no record of any Helena's, but Magdalena is a common first or middle name in several generations. Additionally, Rendsburg would be the closest thing to a large city (about 7 miles SW on Hwy 203) near Klein-Wittensee. E-mail me with whatever information you have at dlgreve@socal.rr.com and I will try and help you anyway I can.

Regards,

David
