"Shirley Rose Button, 88 yrs, a resident of Pine Hill Mobile Home Park, Berwick and formerly of Dover, NH died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at her son's home after a short illness.She was born in Hartford, CT on February 11, 1916 a daughter of Charles and Rose (GRENIER) WESSOLECK.Shirley graduated from Morgan G. Bulkeley High School in Hartford, CT., in 1934, never missing a day of school. Shirley won awards for her beautiful handwriting, being the Palmer Method Writing Award, the Muscular Morement Business Writing Award and Rapid Legible Business Writing Award in New York City.Shirley was married on October 9, 1948 to George F. Button Jr. She was a homemaker most of her life and was an avid cook, seamstress, and loved spending time with her family. Shirley was also an excellent crocheter, having made beautiful bedspreads for her family.She was predeceased by her husband George Button Jr., her brother Ray Wessoleck, and her grandson Deric Button.She is survived by her three sons George Button III, whom she lived with of Berwick, Me., Frederick Button of Rochester, NH, Alan Button of ME; a daughter, Alayne Cox of New York City; and a loving sister, Ruth Seigler of Newington, CT. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Karen Campbell, Laura Dellany, and Susan Dowd, all of New York, Joshua Button of New Hampshire, Sheyna Button of Colorado, and Brylie Button of Maine and six great grandchildren, Stephen Campbell, Michael Campbell, Sean Dellaney, Anna Marie Dowd, and Christy Ann Dowd, all of New York and Ame-lie Button of New Hampshire. She is also survived and missed greatly by her best friend and caregiver Karen Towne of North Berwick, Maine.A funeral service will be held at Eleven o?clock on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Laing-Bibber Funeral Chapel, 36 Rochester Street, Berwick, ME.Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick."
