I am hoping someone can help me. I am stuck on this family so i thought I would post here to see if someone may have some insight on how I can break thru this barrier.
I have a death record for a Eugene MORIN who died in North Dakota in 1931. On this record it states that his parents are Peter MORIN and Julie GRENIER. (Peter Morin is also known as Pierre Morin) Anyway, in the obits for Eugene, it states he was born in Sorel, Quebec on 18 Dec 1856--(However, when I look in the church records for Sorel, there is a Morin born on that date, but his name is Ludger MORIN and his parents are Edmond MORIN and Julier GRENIER.)
I have a marriage for Edmond MORIN and Julie GRENIER of 9 Jan 1854 also in Sorel. My brick wall is this: How can I prove or disprove Ludger and Eugene Morin are/are not the same person? 2nd... What can I do to find out if Edmond and Pierre/Peter MORIN are the same person? All my documents for Julie's husband has the name Pierre or Peter on it. I really need to get this solved and I don't want to link the wrong person with the wrong family. I hope someone with more knowlege in researching these records can help me. Thank you in advance.
July 11 1857 was baptized Joseph-Edmond MORIN son of Pierre-Edmond MORIN and Julie GRENIER in Sorel. So Pierre and Edmond are the same person
Best of luck
