I purchased the subject undated studio portrait taken by E. M. Van Aken, Elmira, NY. It is identified on the front:
"Compliments of E. B. Gregory.
Elmira"
I found Eugene B. Gregory listed in the 1870 and 1880 Census data for Elmira, Chemung Co., NY. He was born about 1849 in NY. In 1870 he worked as a carpenter. By 1880 he had became an architect and was married to Martha E. (maiden name unknown), born Feb 1856 in NY. They had a son, Albert P., born May 1879 in NY. I found Albert living with his then widowed mother listed in the 1900 Census data for Elmira.
