I am a direct descendent of that John Gregg and his cousin Nancy. My information is that John is one of three brothers and 2 sisters who migrated from Ireland( around 1790 (John born 1776, William born 1770, and Henry born 1774, and their 2 sisters Margaret and Ann). They all settled in Washington County, PA and were actually some of the earliest settles there. John and Nancy had 9 children that I have verified: James 8/8/1795-7/1809 Eleanor 5/22/1797-9/14/1841 Andrew 11/19/1798--3/28/1872 (my ggg grandfather) Mary 9/8/1800 Henry 4/28/1804-1/24/1836 Sarah 9/8/1806-3/6/1880 Nancy Ann 11/9/1808 John 1/23/1811-3/15/1879 Margaret 2/18/1813 Elizabeth 2/11/1815 Eleanor Gregg first married William Wallace and had one daughter with him--Sara, before his death between 1813 and 1820. She then married her cousin, Henry (son of the immigrant Henry Gregg and his wife Jane Dowler Gregg) and had 7 more children--Andrew, William, John and 4 unknown infants that died at birth or very shortly thereafter. The information I have is that Sarah Gregg married an Amor Jeffries and they had 12 children. However, she was born in 1806, so this is probably NOT the Sarah Gregg you need. I do have some information on the children of Henry Gregg and Jane Dowler Gregg; but there is no mention of a daughter, Sarah. The information I have on the third and oldest brother, William and his wife, Mary (unknown maiden) does not list any daughter, Sara, either. But I have to admit that I have not researched those 2 brothers as thoroughly as John. If you wish more information, please e-mail me and I will send whatever you need that I can supply Notify Administrator about this message?
