Jody,
I cannot be of much help to you in your search, but I have Gregg relatives who were living in Adams County, PA around 1780's onward. I am not sure if Washington County is in close proximity to Adams County, but I do know there are lots of Greggs in Pennsylvania. My GGGG-grandfather was James Gregg. He came from Ireland, but we do not know where. Nor do we know his birthdate. We do know that he died in 1830. He was married to Elizabeth ? (who was born in PA) and who died in 1821. They had 4 children: James, Jr, Mary (my GGG-grandmother), Samuel, and John. Samuel and John died before attaining adulthood. I have been trying to find any relatives of James Gregg who may have lived in that area, but so far, have come up empty. If you have run across this family in your research, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks much!
