Greggs in early Washington Co., PA

In "Commemorative Biographical Record of Washington County, Pennsylvania" (Chicago: J. H. Beers & Co., 1893)which is posted online on the USGenWeb Washington County, Pennsylvania site I found some interesting information concerning Greggs in that county.

I am especially interested in the family of John Gregg b. ca 1765 in Ireland; m. his cousin, Nancy Gregg; he died 20 July 1841 in Washington County. His wife died 1844. They reputedly had two sons (names unknown to me) who died young and three daughters:

1. Eleanor Gregg who m. William Wallace and died in 1813
2. Sarah Gregg who m. John Greer
3. Nancy Gregg - I don't know

I have no idea if the undocumented information in this book is correct or not. And I am not at all sure that with all the same given names being repeated over and over if I have gotten the relationships correct.

If there is anyone else researching this family, I would like to 'talk' with you! I am especially interested in Sarah Gregg who m. John Greer. If this is the right couple, they settled in Knox County, Ohio where she died after giving birth to several children.

There is a Family Bible for the family but clearly entries were made long after the events in at least some of the earlier cases. It gives John's first wife as simply Sarah Greer b. 1788. Their first child was b. october 1801. That would have made her an extremely young bride and so I suspect that her birth year is incorrect.

Can anyone help me? Thank you.
