AT the Glasgow Necropolis, directly adjacent to the Glasgow Cathedral, connected by the Bridge of Sighs in 1832.Find in the Quarry, right next to the Caledonian Brewery:
In loving memory of GEORGE LYON WALKER GRIERSON who died 4th February, 1896 - Aged 66 years.
His children
David Alexander [Grierson], died 22nd January, 1870 - AGed (5) five weeks.
Jessie Moncrieff [Grierson] Died 3rd June, 1877, Aged (4) four Years.
GEORGE LYON WALKER GRIERSON - Captain Royal Horse Artillery - Died at Lucknow, India, 19th October, 1892 - AGed 31 years.
His wife - ALLISON LYON WALKER, died 15th January, 1905, Aged 73 years; [she died in 1903, the stone's year is wrong, but the date is right, confirmed in the calender of confirmations at the Mitchell Library].
(Lieutenant-General) [Sir] James Moncrieff Grierson............known information, not transcribed here by me, however, ANOTHER smaller stone in front of that one, on the ground, shaped like a scroll:
"In Loving Memory of Our Brother JAMES MONCRIEFF GRIERSON who died in FRANCE, 17th August, 1914 - Aged 55 Years and Rest Here."
