Naomi:
Thanks for responding. These are definitely my people.
My great grandmother was Emma Jane Tharp. And, yes, Charles Robinson married her sisters, Maude and Lucy.Your reference to "Lilly" Tharp is only the second time that I've seen her called by that name--the article that you referenced and her youngest brother, Joseph Nathan's obituary in 1905.Her given name was actually Lucy May Tharp. My great grandmother always referred to her as "Aunt Lucy".Charles' first wife was Lavina "Maud" Tharp.
They were among a total of ten children born to James Peter Tharp and Susan Helm. I don't know how much you have on this family...or how much you may want. Let me know...you can contact me directly at: [email protected].
Do you know whether Charles and Lucy/Lilly had any children of their own?I know that he and Maud had a boy and a girl who both died in infancy.I don't know if they had any other surviving children, or not.
I'm interested in whatever you might have on the Robinson and Tharp family.I've been pulling my hair out for over two years trying to identify James Peter Tharp's parents...with still no conclusive evidence.I can trace Susan Helm's ancestry back many generations, however.
I look forward to hearing from you soon, Naomi.
