John Wesley was my great great grandfather. We have a letter that he wrote to one of his sisters concerning the birth of Charles, my great grandfather. I will check to see if it is your ancestor, and, if so, will send you a scan. It is kind of a hoot, but definitely reflects that time period. He writes that they have a new baby boy, and that he is "as pleased as if someone had just given me a new hat."
