According to Peter Holden Greenman's book 'The Greenman Family in America' Rufus is the son of Samuel Stewart Greenman & Polly Guile; Samuel is the son of James Greenman & Joanna G. Bennett; the parents of James are unknown. None of the books in my possession identify the parents of James.
