Hello from Michigan. My question is actually for Mark Greenleaf. I am hoping you have information on the Greenleaf family back to the 1700's.

My ancestor, Phillip Wirbel (Varvel and variations) came to America in 1741 on the ship "Europa". On 11-21-1741 he took an oath of allegiance at the courthouse in Philadelphia.

It seems he married in Philadelphia to Dorothy Greenleaf of Philadelphia. They had 7 children as far as I know. Most of them migrated to Kentucky as young adults and served in the Revolutionary War. I do have a death date for Phillip Wirbel as 1778 in upper Bucks Co NC. I suppose it's possible all the children were born in NC.

I would love to know Dorothy Greenleaf's parents' name. I am attempting to record the names and dates of each family line and when they came to America in an artistic way. This is the only one I'm missing. The Varvel's and their spouses have been very hard to trace. Part of my picture requires what nation the family came from. What is Greenleaf? Where did they come from?

I am particularly interested in their son named Charles. The other sons were Jacob, Henry, Philip, Daniel, John and a daughter, Margaret.

Hope you can help. Have a nice day.

Janice Samuelson (My mother's maiden name is Varvel)
