I'm not a descendant of this line, but have this info.
If this is your Sarah Ellen in the 1881 census, below, she was probably b abt 1879, and likely daughter of George M. Greenlaw and Sarah Brachan. I don't know George M. Greenlaw's parents.

Elmsville is in St. Patrick parish, New Brunswick.

Siblings of your Sarah Ellen Armstrong?

Sarah J. Armstrong 47 b NB Church of Scotland, Scotch origin
JAMES F. ARMSTRONG 24 b NB laborer "

Margaret/Maggie Greenlaw's parents?
George M. Greenlaw 46 b NB Church of England, Scotch origin, laborer
John B. Greenlaw 19 b NB
MARGARET GREENLAW 15 b NB
Barbara Greenlaw 13 b NB
[Note in 1881 St. Patrick, George M. Greenlaw age 62 farmer was residing alone.]

John Brachan Greenlaw was b 1 Jan 1852, bp 15 Oct 1853 at St. Patrick's Presbyterian Church, son of George M. Greenlaw and Margaret Brachan. It appears that Margaret, George's wife, died bef 1871, as she's not in the 1871 census.

John Frederick Armstrong was b 16 Apr 1847, bp 16 Aug 1847, at St. Patrick's Presbyterian Church, son of John and Sarah Jane Armstrong.
